Have read all of this writer's books and enjoyed every one. This book was a glimpse into a very dark economic time and the way people had to be creative in surviving. It was happy and sad and a very enjoyable read. The realtionships are interesting and the development of them a bit harrowing at times, I was rooting for Honora to be more independent, and she did not disappoint me!
