History, and present-day lives. Will Sohrab live happily ever after in America? Has Amir finally forgiven himself for his “sin”? We did enjoy this book. Well written, so much so that we almost felt that we reading non-fiction. Some of the descriptions really hit you, and you could almost feel yourself in the situations. (For example fleeing Afghanistan in an oil tanker - the darkness and the smell) We have now requested his new book, and just hope it is as gripping as the Kite Runner. HOSSEINI, KHALED - Kite Runner

It gave me a terrible insight into a culture I have little knowledge of and the difficulties of a child trying to make sense of the world he finds himself in. The story of the kite race was wonderful. I have enjoyed the film, but the book has so much more depth as there is explanation of what was happening. The surgence of the religious zealots was explored and horribly illustrated in realistic and graphic detail. Wonderful story though, will always stay with me and I will re- read this book. I have recommended it to many people. What a story!
